Design (Wikipedia - opens new window), catalog #216. He believed this painting represented the best of his work. The scene is highlighted with luminous pinks, yellows and greens. Frank Bicknell was an important member of
the Old Lyme, CT, art colony. He was born in 1866 in Augusta, ME, and died in 1943 in Essex, CT. His other addresses include Malden, MA, NYC, and Old Lyme, CT. He studied with his father, Albion H. Bicknell, and at Academie Julien, Paris. His memberships include ANA, Paris AAA, SC, NAC, Allied Am. Artists, NAD, SPNY, PAA and Chicago WC Soc.
